Alliance Française Omaha has partnered with independent group Café et Conversation to bring Omaha’s francophones a new French conversation event every week of the year!
C&C is a casual weekly meetup to practice/speak French. Whether you are a beginner, native speaker, or somewhere in between, C&C is the group for you! C&C meets at various locations in the Omaha area and occasionally online via the Zoom platform. Events are free to attend and all are welcome.
AFO will share C&C’s events on our website event calendar, but we also encourage you to join the C&C community via their email list and private Facebook group below.
OÙ ET QUAND?
If you're new to French, or if you've studied it before but are feeling rusty, this event is specifically designed for you. Also, while our focus will be on helping you with French, we'll be using English for context, explanations, etc. All we're asking is that you be prepared to introduce yourself in French and tell us a little about yourself—in French. Also, if you're still feeling a bit nervous, feel free to prepare some notes about what you might want to talk about, and what questions you might want to ask others.
Remember, the key is to keep it simple! Everyone at C&C is kind and supportive. We're here to help you. And if you're an intermediate French speaker, or above, please feel free to join us as mentors in helping others—but please be reminded that we will be using English for explanations and context.
As an added incentive, we're hoping to have a few teachers from Alliance Française Omaha on hand to answer any question you might have about the upcoming class schedule AFO is now offering.
We'll be meeting at 6pm on Thursday, December 21th at The Cottonwood hotel.
This week we will be meeting at the Cottonwood hotel (Cottonwood room), which is a beautiful and cozy venue in the blackstone area. We will be meeting in the cottonwood room. Parking can be found around the venue for street parking. There is also a paid parking lot across the street, on 36th and Harney.
The bar has a large selection of coffee and tea, as well as alcoholic drinks. Food is available as well.
