Alliance Française Omaha has partnered with independent group Café et Conversation Midwest to bring Omaha’s francophones a French conversation event every week of the year!
C&C is a casual weekly meetup to practice/speak French. Whether you are a beginner, native speaker, or somewhere in between, C&C is the group for you! C&C meets at various locations in the Omaha area. Events are free to attend and all are welcome.
AFO will share C&C’s events on our website event calendar, but we also encourage you to join the C&C community via their email list and private Facebook group below.
OÙ ET QUAND?
Craving a taste of the bohemian area of Paris—Montmartre? Come explore Little Bo along 13th Street in Omaha, all the while practicing your French! We'll stop by for a coffee, take in a super cool gift shop, and land at one of the coolest new wine shops in Paris—er, we mean, OMAHA.
We'll visit three locations as follows:
2pm-2:30pm
Archetype Coffee
1419 S 13th St
Omaha
2:40-3pm
Dusk Goods & Gifts
1234 13th St. Suite 202
Omaha
3:10-?
iDLE Wine & Goods/Lumen Beer
1433 S. 13th St.
Omaha
If you've been to iDLE you know how great it is—the owner, Ivy, is doing a great job finding interesting wines and snacks—including many wonderful French and other European wines. iDLE feels like one of those super local wine shops you might discover in Paris—where you won't find any tourists.
Additionally, if you're into beer, Lumen may be some of the best locally brewed beer going right now. You can easily move between both shops as they share a common hallway and you can easily bring beer into the wine shop and vice versa.
All three stops are within close proximity. However, if you're not up for walking, simply meet us at one of the stops according the above schedule.
When you arrive, look for C&C founder Jeff Koterba. Let us know that you’re coming by RSVPing below. Everyone is welcome, no matter if you are a beginner, a native French speaker, or somewhere in between. Hope to see you there!
