Que du Français !

  • Private residence Available on request Omaha (map)

We have made some changes for our July 14th event. First, we will start at 4:00 p.m. instead of our usual 1:30 p.m. Second, we are inviting our QdF members to bring family along, which means that English (and other languages) are welcome.

This will be a picnic in the shade with allowances to move indoors in case of bad weather. Salads and kebobs will be provided. Bring drinks and desserts as you wish. We will have tables and chairs. Feel free to camp out on a blanket if you prefer. Pétanque will be on offer as well as a sprinkler for the kids to run through. You may bring other games if you wish.

There is no charge for this event, but we need an accurate headcount to plan for the food that is being provided. Please R.S.V.P. by emailing quedufrancais@yahoo.com by Monday, July 8th

(or July 1st, if you have trouble meeting deadlines ;-)

Où et quand? Our Franco-American host offers a 4:00 pm gathering on a private acreage. Located in the Ponca Hills of Omaha, “Le Châtelet” is easily accessible with plenty of parking. Attendees are encouraged to bring the drinks and desserts of their choice. French speakers may bask in “la langue de Molière,” where others may simply enjoy the atmosphere.

About Que du Français ! Looking for a French immersion experience without having to travel internationally? Que du Français is it! Though fluency is not required, participants should have a conversational level of the language. While only French is allowed, we help each other with words and phrases, so “comment dit-on” and “que veut dire” are often-used phrases. Our regulars include native and semi-native speakers, as well as those wanting to maintain or to improve their language skills. French games, walks in the surrounding woods, and lively discussions are normal features of our rendezvous.

For more information, email quedufrancais@yahoo.com.
